El Progrés is a neighbourhood in the centre-south of Badalona with a dense fabric of residential blocks from the 1960s and 70s. It is one of the most densely populated neighbourhoods in the city, with a permanent-resident profile and a housing stock that has accumulated decades of use on blind mechanisms. At Persianista BCN 24H we cover El Progrés with a service available 24 hours a day.

Blinds in El Progrés: dense neighbourhood with aged housing
El Progrés has a large concentration of compact apartment blocks where the original blinds have been running for decades without any servicing. The most common failure is a broken strap or a winder that has lost tension: mechanisms that have completed thousands of cycles and reach the end of their useful life all at once, especially in buildings where they have never been replaced.
The proximity to the sea also plays a role: although El Progrés is not on the seafront, the salt-laden air affects mechanisms over time, especially on upper floors with exposed façades. It is common to receive call-outs from several neighbours in the same block in the same week.
