Most common blind faults in Viladecans
Viladecans has a varied urban layout that produces quite different fault types depending on the area. In the blocks of the nucli antic and els Pins, most buildings date from the 1970s–80s and the original blinds have been in service for decades. Broken straps, winders with a weak spring and PVC slats cracking with temperature changes are the typical issues here.
In the Can Carbonell and Mas Lluí developments, with terraced and detached houses, it is common to find large-format aluminium blinds on balconies and terraces. Over time they lose tension, squeak or the axle loses grip and the blind drops on its own. Many owners in these areas choose to motorise their blinds at the time of repair, as the size makes manual operation awkward.
Proximity to the Llobregat delta also plays a role: ambient humidity is high for much of the year, which accelerates deterioration of the metal parts inside the mechanism.
