Most common blind faults in Rubí
The housing stock in Rubí is varied. In the Can Alzamora and old town centre neighbourhoods, 1960s–80s residential blocks with manual strap-operated blinds predominate. The mechanisms in these properties have been running for decades and it is common for several to start failing at the same time: winder with no tension, frayed strap, cracked PVC slats.
In the northern developments — Can Jardí, Can Bonvilar — there are more detached houses and terraced homes with larger aluminium blinds. The Vallès wind particularly affects north- and north-west-facing facades, where aluminium slats are more prone to bending during strong tramuntana or westerly gusts.
In newer developments such as Can Fatjó, we find more electric blinds whose motors have started showing signs of failure: sluggish response to the remote, unusual noise or no movement at all. In many cases the motor can be repaired; in others, replacing it is more cost-effective.

Recent jobs in Rubí
🏢 Block in Can Alzamora — Carrer de Montserrat
Two blinds with exhausted winders in the same flat. The strap paid out but would not rewind with enough tension to raise the blind. Winders and straps replaced. The resident asked us to check the third blind preventively as well.
🏡 House in Can Jardí — westerly wind damage
Three aluminium slats bent on the north-west-facing terrace blind. Slats replaced and lateral guide stops reinforced to reduce the impact of future wind gusts.
⚡ Motorisation during renovation — Can Fatjó
Failed living-room blind motor. The client took the opportunity to motorise the other two manual blinds in the flat as well. Motors compatible with the existing home automation system installed.
