Most common blind faults in El Prat
El Prat is predominantly made up of apartment blocks, with a lot of construction from the 1960s–80s in the historic centre, La Granja and the Sant Cosme area. In these buildings the original blind mechanisms are usually heavily worn: winders with broken springs, straps frayed in the last few centimetres and PVC slats cracked with age.
The humidity of the Llobregat delta is an important factor in El Prat: the damp environment during autumn and winter corrodes the internal metal components of blind housings faster than average, especially on ground and first floors with poor ventilation.
In more recently built areas such as the Ciutat Cooperativa or the newer developments near the C-31, problems tend to be different: electric blinds with a failed motor or large-format aluminium blinds that have lost their balance and drop too easily.
