Mataró is the capital of the Maresme, the most populous municipality in the comarca with over 130,000 inhabitants and a wide variety of housing: apartment blocks in the centre and the Eixample, detached houses and semi-detacheds in the inland urbanisations, and coastal apartments on the seafront. The combination of marine environment, ageing housing stock and intensive use means demand for blind repairs is constant. At Persianista BCN 24H we cover Mataró with service available 24 hours a day.

Mataró: three types of housing, three types of fault
In the historic centre and the Eixample, the housing stock is old and blinds have gone decades without maintenance. The most common fault is a broken strap or a spring-less winder: the owner pulls the strap and is left holding a piece of it. These are quick repairs resolved on the first visit.
In the seafront flats and apartments, the problem is salt build-up over years inside the mechanisms. Aluminium slats on sea-facing façades are the most affected: they bend in the llevant wind or develop white corrosion on the surface.
In the inland urbanisations — Cirera, Rocafonda alta, Can Marfà — detached houses and semi-detacheds predominate with large-format blinds. Here the most frequent problem is axle imbalance in picture-window blinds that have been bearing their own weight for years, and motorisation is in high demand among owners who want to automate several blinds at once.
